Emergency Dental Care
Dental pain can be caused by several conditions. Frequently dental pain will be caused by a fractured tooth, or cavities that have reached the nerve in the middle of the tooth.
At an emergency dental exam your provider will evaluate you with X-rays, determine what is causing your pain, then recommend an appropriate treatment such as a root canal, a tooth extraction, or a filling.
*** If your dental pain is accompanied with a fever, trouble breathing, limited mouth opening, or swelling outside of the mouth, you should immediately go to the nearest emergency department, as these signs suggest a more complicated infection that will require urgent intervention at a hospital.
